Donald Roy Criglow, 75 years old, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2022 in a local hospital. He was born on July 8, 1946 to Roy Edmond and Melcena Tate Criglow in Shreveport, LA.
Don grew up in Lake Charles, LA and was a graduate of Lake Charles High School. He attended McNeese State University. He worked at Muller’s Department Store, and for the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Department before entering the Army in January of 1968. Don proudly served his country while stationed in the Netherlands, and was awarded an Expert Marksman Ribbon (Rifle), National Defense Service Medal, and a Good Conduct Medal. After returning from overseas, he worked at Hebert Abstract Company prior to opening Criglow Land and Title with his family.
Don enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a devoted husband and father, and his best times were spent with his family.
Those left to cherish his memory are, his wife and best friend, Judy Criglow; his children, Christopher Criglow (Kelly), Kristy Jones (Wendell), Sue Davis (Bryan), Cody Criglow, and Abbie Criglow; his grandchildren, Kailey Ellis (Corbin), Madeleine Criglow, Christian Criglow, Grant Davis (Allison), and Luke Davis; his sister Suzy Berry (Wallace); nieces and nephews; his favorite breakfast buddy “Albert” and a great granddaughter arriving in August.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Doyle Criglow.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at University Baptist Church, located at 4505 Lake Street, Lake Charles, LA. Rev. Wade Carroll will officiate. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 AM until the start of the service. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The family would like to thank the ICU staff at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital and Dr. Clifford Courville for their compassionate care during Don’s final days.

Don Criglow was an absolute legend, a nurturing mentor, and above all else, a great friend during some long and otherwise lonely days on the road. I owe a good bit of my adult life to the kindness he and his family extended to me at my lowest point. Love and Respect to y’all.
