Don was always one of those genuinely nice guys. He will definitely be missed. I always liked the times when we just randomly ran into each other at Goodwill or someplace. Rest well my dear friend.

Donnie was the sweetest, kindest, soft spoken guy. We went to school together. He was always a hard working guy. I am so sorry for the families loss. He will be missed.

Donald Gene Dawson, Jr., 63, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at his home in Crawfordsville. He was born July 14, 1961, in Danville, Indiana, a son of the late Donald Sr. and Sandra Kay (White) Dawson.
On April 21, 1984, he married Sandra May (Ray) Dawson. She preceded him in death on April 19, 2014.
Don graduated from South Mont High School in 1979 and later earned an associate’s degree in college.
Don was a master gardener and operated a produce stand at the Crawfordsville Farmers Market at the armory whenever he had the opportunity. He enjoyed buying and selling items online. Don was a beloved father, grandfather, and brother who will be missed by all.
Survivors include his children, Machelle Elliott of Lafayette, Malisa (Dane) Lewis of Linden, Elisha Dawson of Linden, Mandy Roberts of Crawfordsville, Randy (Leah) Taylor of Roachdale, and Sonnie Dawn Dawson of Washington, Illinois; 13 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; brothers, David (Tonya) Dawson of Crawfordsville and Harry Dawson of Crawfordsville; and sisters, Mary (companion, Shannon Cullings) Dawson of Crawfordsville and Heidi (companion, Rodney Lauy) Dawson of Crawfordsville.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 27, 2024, at Porter and Hunt Funeral Home & Crematory, 315 West Main Street, in Jamestown, Indiana. Visitation is planned from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Cremation to follow services.
