Donald Jaecks Obituary

Donald (Donnie) Lynn Jaecks, 72, of Taylor, Texas, passed away on April 22, 2024.

Donnie was born to the late Hildren (Buddy) and LaVerda Jaecks in Taylor, Texas, on August 17, 1951. He was a beloved and lifelong resident of Taylor. Donnie dedicated 38+ years of service to the Union Pacific Railroad before retiring. Additionally, he worked for Alcoa. He was a proud graduate of Thrall High School.

Donnie found joy in various hobbies including maintaining his cars, fishing, walking his faithful dog "Foxy," and tending to cattle. He enjoyed watching old western movies and was a loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He cherished spending time with his family and was known for his honest and kind-hearted nature, always willing to extend a helping hand or a warm welcome to others. Donnie's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hildren (Buddy) and LaVerda Jaecks, and is survived by his older brother Charles Jaecks, sister-in-law Gloria Jaecks, nieces Jeannette Scully (Randy Scully) and Jennifer Gantt (Spencer Gantt), as well as his great-nieces and nephews: Corey Scully, Cailey Scully, Cierra Scully, Tyler Gantt, and Kylie Gantt. He also leaves behind his dear friend Tina Pickell.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 30, from 11 am to 1 pm at Providence Funeral Home, followed by funeral services at 1 pm with Pastor Michael Albrecht officiating. Donnie will be laid to rest next to his parents at Taylor City Cemetery.
