Don was always a listener. On Dec. 19 Don had joined the men's group and was listening to all of the commentary on the leader's question as to what is the present. One of the members chipped in that he agreed with Don. Don hadn't said anything so far so that got him going. He summed up: "We are the expansion of the present moment. I believe we should leave the past with all its regrets and move into the future with hope."
Don shared his thoughts and presence with us on Saturday mornings. His care for people throughout his HR career shined through, for example, with his guidance to an executive on hiring women to positions of senior responsibility. I am so happy to have known Don and Joanne and with Cathy to have been a small part of his wonderful life and family.

Don was great member of our Saturday morning mens discussion group at St. Barnabas. We often discussed our common experiences in the cooperative farm elevators and businesses in Iowa. Coops were a big part of my early farm life and later my brothers farming operation in Dike, Iowa.

It has been a pleasure to know Don for many, many years. Notably he was a gentle man of principle. We had so many good times with him and Joanne in our CE gang . He loved to talk about his career and memories of his travels. Notedly he was a family man who loved to spend many happy days at the lake with all of his large extended family! We'll miss him a lot.

Diane and Debbie, it has been years since I have seen either of you or your Dad. But I remember him when us kids were in grade school and junior high. He was always very nice and always had a smile. My deepest sympathies go out to you and your family.
