Donna Ruth (Pietrasik) Kiszelik, age 86, passed away peacefully in her sleep while holding the hand of her husband, who was sleeping by her side. She leaves behind a legacy of deep faith, unconditional love, and a joyful spirit that touched everyone who knew her.
Born in Filer City, Michigan, on May 22, 1939, Donna was the beloved daughter of Ted Pietrasik and Ruth (Smogoleski) Pietrasik Duchon. She was a proud graduate of St. Joseph High School, Class of 1957, and a devoted member of the St. Joseph Rosary Society for more than 50 years—faithfully exemplifying her lifelong commitment to her church and community.
In the summer of 1964, Donna met the love of her life, Jim Kiszelik. They were married on August 28, 1965, at St. Joseph Church in Manistee, beginning a beautiful journey of more than 60 years together, filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion.
Donna was the heart and soul of her family—a true spark plug of spunk, kindness, generosity, and warmth. She was a fiercely devoted mother whose love and involvement never wavered as her children grew. From school plays and graduations to holidays and life’s milestones, Donna was always there—present, proud, and fully engaged. Every event mattered, and she made each of her children feel deeply valued and supported through every season of life.
Grandma’s house was always a favorite place to be. Her grandchildren adored time spent with her, surrounded by her warmth, laughter, and unconditional love—fondly remembering that Grandma never said “no.”
Donna welcomed friends and neighbors with open arms and a generous heart, remembering every birthday and special occasion. She retired from Kmart after many years of dedicated service and the friendships she cherished there. During the holidays, Donna’s generous spirit was especially evident in the kindness and generosity she shared with charities.
A true fighter, Donna, never gave up and outlived every prognosis she was given. She survived against all odds—her strength, faith, and love for her family carrying her far beyond what any doctor expected. In the end, only God knew the time, and He gently called her home when her journey was complete.
Donna was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Tyler Kiszelik; her parents, Ted and Ruth Pietrasik; her in-laws, John and Anna Kiszelik; her sister, Jane Tiejen; her brother, Paul Pietrasik; her brother-in-law, William Tiejen.
She is deeply mourned and forever loved by her husband of more than 60 years, Jim Kiszelik; her children, James (Marcia) Kiszelik, Jennifer (Gary) Wysocki, Darcie (Dan) Neeley, Wendy (Greg) Newman, and Bill (Marci) Preble; and her grandchildren, Sarah and Jessica Kiszelik, Alyssa and Alec Wysocki, Andrew Bulerski, Phyllissa (Rob) Markham and Ben Neeley, Aaron and Ryan Newman. Great Grandchildren Peyton and Kaiden. Step Grandchild Jennifer Neeley and Step Great Grandchildren Gavin and Mya.
Donna is also survived by her sister, Sharon (Jim) Edmondson; her sister-in-law, Sally Pietrasik; and many extended family members and friends. Her memory will live on in every life she touched with her faith, strength, and love.
Mass of Christian Burial and celebration of Donna’s life will be held on Monday February 2, 2026, at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee, MI, with Reverend Anthony Pelak celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery also in Manistee. Visitation will be held at Herbert Funeral Home on Sunday February 01, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, with The Holy Rosary service to be prayed at 4:00 pm. The family will also be at the funeral home on Monday morning from 10:00 am until processing to the church at 10:40 am.
Donna’s resilience, energy, and unwavering love will be remembered always. She was a fighter, a nurturer, and a woman of profound faith. Her light continues to shine in all who were blessed to love her—and be loved by her.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. I'll always remember the many hours I spent at the Kiszelik home. Whether it was after school, on the weekends and summer vacations. Donna was always busy doing something. She will always be in my memories.
