Donna Mae Poye

1928 - 2020

Donna Mae Poye, age 91, a Brillion resident, died Monday, February 3, 2020 at Heritage Apartments, Brillion. She was born on August 15, 1928 in Echo, Minnesota, daughter of the late Irwin and Luetta (Schoer) Gibbs. In December 1958 she married her sweetheart, James Poye, in St. Paul, MN. Donna worked as a beautician many years ago. She was a snowbird for 25 years and enjoyed making quilts and crafts. Donna also enjoyed music, traveling and going to Texas. She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ, Brillion. Survivors include her children: Todd (Loralee) Poye, Chilton, Brad (Julie) Poye, Brillion, Scott (Tonya Dix) Poye, Clear Lake, WI., Patti (Tim) O’Brien, St. Paul, MN.; 12 grandchildren: Christine (Gerald) Jones, Mary Alice Cantrell, Natalie Burton, Barb (Dennis) Smith, Jenifer Paist and her husband Shaun, James Paist, Lauren Poye and significant other Adam, Jason (Lisa) Poye, Krista (Ben) Schroth, Joel (Kassie) Poye, Anna (Jon) Willams-Schultz, Adam Poye; 18 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; and a special friend: Chuck Bain. She was preceded in death by her husband: James; a son: Greg Poye; a daughter and son-in-law: Nancy & Bill Amberg; a grandson: David Poye; three sisters: Arlene, Lois, Pearl; a brother: Harlan; and a special friend: Dick Lambert. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Peace United Church of Christ, Brillion. Officiating at the Memorial Service will be the Rev. Nancy Zorn-Micke with burial at Kasson Evergreen Cemetery, Brillion, at a later date.
