Donny Jones

1948 - 2026

MANTACHIE - Kerry Donald Jones, more commonly known as Donny, passed away early Friday morning, March 20, 2026, from the Sanctuary Hospice House at the age of 78. He was born February 10, 1948, in Mantachie to Tom Bean and Irene Thrasher Jones. Donny served his country in the U.S. Navy and the National Guard. He was a graduate of the University of Mississippi and was a life long entrepreneur. He loved the Lord and was a member of Center Star Church.

 

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 22, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Ricky Lesley officiating. Burial will be in the Stephens Cemetery.

 

Survivors include his sons, Tom B. Jones (Kassy), Joshua A. Jones (Molly), and Shelby Morris; one brother, Terry G. Jones (Felicia); and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Wise Jones; his parents, Tom B. and Irene Thrasher Jones; his father- and mother-in-law, Gilbert Allen and Alice Miles Wise; three brothers, Tommy Jones, Jimmy Jones, and Sammy Jones; and one sister, Peggy Jones Kent.

 

Pallbearers will be Toby Whitlock, Trey Wise, Tracey Chism, Jimmy Pettigo, Jamie Franks, Billy White, Jimmy Dale Franks, and Jeff Buse.

 

Honorary pallbearers will be Wigg Reynolds, Mule Reynolds, Lance Bean, and Jeff Thompson.

 

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 21, and from noon until service time Sunday at the funeral home.
