DOROTHY MARIE RAYBURN CASEY
Born on March 10, 1942 in Hockley, Texas
Passed Away September 26, 2019 at her home in Houston, Texas
Age 77
Dorothy was born to Earl T. Rayburn and Minnie Lee (Zube) Rayburn and grew up on her parent’s farm in Hockley, Texas. She graduated Waller High School (1960) where she played Basketball & Volleyball. From there she graduated from Southwestern Business School. Dorothy married her husband James B. Casey Jr. on June 17, 1961 and spent many years raising their 3 children in the Catholic Church. As a mother Dorothy adored each of her children and always made sure they were well dressed and taught to put their best foot forward in life. She also taught them compassion for others and to serve their community.
She started working for Southwestern Bell as a directory assistance operator and following that she started her long-time career as a REALTOR® in 1979. Dorothy loved her time in real estate where she met many of her lifelong friends. Many people included her and James in their family events and celebrations. In 1982 they decided to buy the company they worked for and spent 40 years working together to build what exist today. The agents loved her and looked to her for guidance not just in their careers but in their life.
Dorothy spent many years along with her husband serving her community with the Houston Cy-Fair Lions Club. She served as the president of the club, membership chairman. During this time, she spent many hours working the Cy-Fair Rodeo, Lions Ball Park concessions, Wreaths Across America, Texas Lions Camp, Boys & Girl Country and many other projects raising funds for the Camp and families in her community.

Sweet, lifelong friend. We attended twelve years of school together first in Hockley then graduating at Waller High School. Dorothy coached me through all of my high school math classes. I truly feel like I could still be sitting in some of those chairs if it wasnt for her patience, and persistence. A piece of my past is now missing. However I know where she is and that I will see her again in heaven.

Dorothy was always a thoughtful and loving friend. She and Bud drove to College Station for our wedding just 6 years ago. That meant so very much to me. Her kind and tender spirit always gave us strength and encouragement when we were going through a tough time. I can remember her and Bud telling us about there lifelong love story, what an inspiration and hope to us all. There are still many more special things to say about Dorothy, I'm sure you all already know she will be deeply missed by so very many people that she touched.
