One of God’s sweetest angels on earth, Dorothy G. Cranfill, slipped into her Savior’s arms as she slept peacefully on Saturday, September 27, 2025. Dot, as she was fondly known to her family and friends, was born in Fredericktown, Missouri, on March 28th, 1935. She was the daughter of Dempsey Lee Hale and Maudie Mae Francis.
Dot became the beaming bride of LeRoy Cranfill in 1952. They loving raised six children: “Butch” Le Roy, Jr (Kathy), Brenda Pratt (Lloyd), Michael (Sylvia), Dennis, Darryl (Trina), and Lisa Chappell (Robert).
She proudly dedicated herself to raising her children and tending to her beloved husband. Having a house brimming with family and friends was her greatest joy. She also enjoyed creating beautiful crafts, sewing, and working in her yard; which was always immaculate and full of lovely flowers.
Dot seldom missed an opportunity to serve her church families both in San Juan, TX and at First Baptist Church Canyon Lake, TX. She faithfully served in the children’s departments, lent her beautiful voice to the choirs, and was always ready to help wherever she was needed.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and three of her brothers: J.D., Kenneth, and Larry.
She is survived by her 6 children, 16 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Dot’s Memorial Service will be held at First Baptist Church, Canyon Lake, TX on Friday, October 17th, 2025, at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church Canyon Lake.

I am so so sorry for your loss. Dot was a very special lady. She & LeRoy were like family to me & my mom & dad. I am sure they have all reunited & singing together in Heaven! I am praying for peace & comfort for all the family.
