She also leaves behind 18 precious great-grandchildren.

Dorothy (Dot) was a warm and loving woman of God to all who knew her. She loved her family with all she had in her. She wanted her family, friends and people she met to know she loved them and most importantly God loved them. She would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it and if you were homeless or in need, she would clothe and feed you trying to always be the hands and feet of Jesus. She worked at the telephone company out of high school until she married Rev. Bobby McVickers and traveled with him while he repaired furniture for a living and preached the gospel.

She always had a smile on her face, a word of encouragement, and love in her heart. She loved to laugh and make memories with her family. She got joy from playing the keyboard and singing and praising God every chance she got. Sickness tried to rob her of all she knew and was, but as one of her care givers nicknamed her “victory” she is now healed in heaven and rejoicing and singing in that angel choir with her Lord and Savior and all her loved ones that were waiting on her there. Dorothy McVickers heard her savior say welcome in thy good and faithful servant, and she now has the true victory in Jesus!

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Crystal Springs Chapel, 1400 Crystal Springs Rd., Fayetteville NC  28306.
