Dot (Mary Ann) Gladden Obituary

Mrs. Mary Ann (Dot) Gladden, age 81, of Tallapoosa, GA, passed away March 27, 2013. Mrs. Gladden was born January 24, 1932 in Tallapoosa to the late Tom and Nora Barnett Finley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer E. Gladden; sisters and brother, Lucille Smith, Christine Farmer and Arlin Finley.

Mrs. Gladden was a homemaker and member of Poplar Spring Baptist Church where she enjoyed playing the piano as needed for many years. She also enjoyed sewing, bird watching and tending to her garden. She received more than once the "Yard of the Month" award for her amazing flowers.

Mrs. Gladden is survived by her daughters, Mona Taylor of Lawrenceville, GA and Debbie Glover Neuman of Flowery Branch, Ga; grandchildren, Christy Vallance, Donald Glover and Shane Taylor; great-grandchildren, Kelsey Taylor, Makenzie Taylor, Madison Taylor, Sarah Vallance, Katie Vallance, Fox Glover and Maverick Glover; and sister, Minnie Lee Howard of Tallapoosa.

Funeral services for Mrs. Gladden were held March 30, 2013 at 1:00 PM from Poplar Spring Baptist Church with Bro. Jeff Layton officiating. Music was provided by Mr. Harold McWhorter. Pallbearers serving were Shane Taylor, James Vallance, Donald Glover, Jack Sieverling, Bobby Lanier and Jason Lanier.

Interment followed in Poplar Spring Church Cemetery.

Mary Ann is such a beautiful lady, and will live in our memories. I can remember the wonderful fragrance that she wore and when hearing of your loss, it was as if I could smell the fragrance surrounding me.
