Dr. C. Morrison Farish Obituary
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 206 Central Avenue, Summerville from 1 o'clock PM until hour of service. Memorial services will begin at 2 o'clock PM.
Dr. Farish was born on August 20, 1946 in Columbia, SC son of the late Charles Adams Farish and Louise (Morrison) Farish. He was a member and Council representative of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. He was a graduate of from Ann Arbor High School in Michigan. He received his BS and MSPH degrees from UNC – Chapel Hill and an MD from Medical University of SC. After completing his residency at Oklahoma Children's Hospital, he enjoyed a long and distinguished career as a pediatrician with a private practice in Florence and Darlington, SC. Following his retirement he was an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at MUSC. Dr. Farish was active in many civic, community and medical societies and associations at the local, state and national level. In 2013 he was presented the SC Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics Career Achievement Award. The University of South Carolina Department of Pediatrics honored him with the 2015 William Weston Distinguished Award for Excellence in Pediatrics.
Surviving in addition to his wife Luanne are: two sons: Cameron M. Farish (Susan), Geoffrey G. Farish (Elizabeth); one daughter: Amanda F. Biondi (J.J.); four grandchildren: Brooks, Sydney, Grace and Jacob Farish all of South Carolina; one sister: Jacque F. Schoch (Hank) of Michigan and their children, Nathan and Morgan. He will be fondly remembered by his patients, friends, students and family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Children in Crisis, 303 East Richardson Avenue, Summerville, SC 29483 or St. Luke's Lutheran Church, "Memorial Fund", 206 Central Avenue, Summerville, SC 29483.

Our family just recently heard of Dr. Farish passing. We loved him so much. Our baby daughter grew up seeing him at the Medical university of South Carolina. He will be greatly missed. Our daughter loved him so much he helped our family get through some hurdles with her first few months of life. We send our love and prayers to his family. May god bless you all.

We just learned of Dr. Farish passing away, as I took Davis Streett, our down syndrome, age 13 to Eastern Carolina in Darlington. We are so sorry, he was such a delight, always joking around and had a great enthusiasm in helping out Medicaid and it's future. I knew he had his special honor in 2015, to no surprise. Dr. Farish will always be fondly remembered by our family. He was pediatrician to all 3 of our children over a 25 year span and also graciously served as a clinical preceptor to me during my FNP pediatric rotation. He leaves a huge void and will be missed by many.

I am so sorry to hear of Dr. Farish's death. He was an amazing pediatrician and a great man. My kids never minded going to the doctor because Dr. Farish always made them feel special. He was very encouraging to my husband when he did an internship under him during his physician assistant training. We moved to NC about 15 years ago and never found a pediatrician to compare to him. I'm so sorry to hear of Dr. Farish's death. He was a great pediatrician and loved by many. I remember the time he rode with me in the ambulance to Charleston. That was a relieve for my parents. He will be missed. May God bless all of you.

Luanne and family, I don't know how such a brilliant pediatrician came to the little town of Darlington and stayed to serve the children of the Pee Dee but many families surely benefitted. I hope you can be comforted after a time by knowing how much Dr. Farish and your family meant to our community. On a personal note Dr. Farish was a generous man and I will always be grateful for the opportunity to work for him and to have him take care of my son.

Praying for you all. Dr. Farish helped me get my son's cancer diagnosed in 2010. He came to the hospital in Columbia to check on us the Wednesday after we were admitted. Will always remember that. I pray for God's comfort and peace to surround this family.

What a great man Doc was! He took care of my children from the time they were born until they were grown. He was so compassionate to them and to me. Dr Farish was a wonderful pediatrician . I met him through a mutual friend. I was very impressed with the way he treated his patients. I referred my family to him whenever they began to have children. I always felt my nieces and nephews had the best doctor that could be found . My condolences the family. Dr Farish was far from just our trusted pediatrician for a span of nearly 20 years, he was my life line when our twins came! He gave us advise that he said he would normally not tell parents. But because of his life experience he helped me get some sleep at night! Thanks you! He was a mentor, a lifeline, and a true friend, or as he referred to himself Uncle Morrison to our boys! He will be dearly missed, for he was greatly loved by many!

Please accept my condolences for your loss. Dr. Farish was a wonderful man. When my son was diagnosed with a chromosomal abnormality that he had never treated before we embarked on a journey of learning together. I spent many a day in his office with Ben feeling like I would pull my hair out. I saw him a few months back at Olive Garden in florence, so glad I got to speak with him one last time. Dear Mrs Farrish & Family
I'm so sorry for your loss! Dr Farrish was a wonderful doctor and a caring man. I thought highly of him. When I was young and a first time mother, my son was having problems with his heart. Dr Farrish called MUSC next thing I know he is back in the room stating he would take care if him here because whoever he had on the phone was not touching our child!

He loved Timmy Boan so much. He used to tell me, " they teach us not to love our patients, but I just can't help it I love that boy". i have seen this Dr. with tears in his eyes, when he knew he couldn't do anymore. He was right there with us until the end. He was there the nite Timmy died giving us his love and support. Loved this Dr. as a close friend.
