Edith Wade, of Epsom, New Hampshire, formerly of Manchester, passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021. She was 95 years old.
Edith was born in Boston, Massachusetts on April 12, 1926, a daughter of the late James M. and Margherita (Matterazzo) Carnevale. Edith graduated from Manchester High School Central and received a scholarship to attend Colby-Sawyer College. Due to her father’s passing, she did not attend, and instead proudly went on to work for New England Telephone Company for the next 50 years. In 1952 she married her former husband, John P. Wade II, and together, they raised their son in Manchester, NH, before moving to Epsom where she co-operated a farm under the name of “Old MacDonald’s Farm.” She often reminisced about the pony rides they provided at various fairs throughout the state, her favorite being the Deerfield Fair. The highlight of every Fall was returning to the Deerfield Fair, walking the grounds and watching the horses and other animals. Edith's dream was to live in a log cabin in the woods, which she realized upon building her retirement cabin in Epsom where her favorite pastimes were watching the Red Sox and going to antique auctions. She would thoughtfully remark on the kindness of her neighbors and the sereneness of living in the country. Edith was also immensely proud of her family and cherished time spent with them. Edith is survived by her son John P Wade, III and his wife Brenda of Manchester, her three Grandsons, Patrick Wade and his wife Elizabeth of Amherst, Major Jeffrey Wade, and his wife Cynthia of Texas, and Gregory Wade and his wife Sophea of Hudson. She also leaves behind 9 Great grandchildren, Connor, Harper, Liliana, Jacqueline, Daniela, Juliette, Penelope, Gwendolyn, and Gregory Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.
“If it wasn’t for my family, I never would have lived this long.”-Edith

To my dear Aunt Edith. You were the last of the Carnevale's. I never got to say goodbye to you. This makes me very sad. You were always so good to me despite my shortcomings. I will always remember you. My heartfelt condolences to my cousin John & his family. It is with my deepest regret I had not visited with you this year as I had asked.
