Edna May (Lawyer) Krystopa, a long time resident of Middletown, Connecticut, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at Napa, California, in the 86th year of her age. Edna was born at New Britain, Connecticut, October 15, 1931, the daughter of Lanphere Acker Lawyer and Anna Mary (Little) Lawyer. She was pre-deceased in 2008 by the love of her life, her high-school sweetheart, and husband of 56 years, Henry Robert Krystopa.
After graduating from New Britain High School in 1950, Edna worked at Fafnir Bearing, New Britain Hospital as a nurse's aid, and at United Appraisal, Middletown. She was a long time member of St. Pius X Church in Middletown, active in Rosary Altar, and Mothers' Circle. She often volunteered with the elderly at area nursing homes. After raising her children, Edna worked for many years at Advanced Belt Technology in Middletown.
Edna was very out-going. She was one who knew life and found it good. She loved music, singing, and never missed an opportunity to dance. If there was fun to be had, she always joined in. She particularly loved children, took part with them in every activity, and always found a way to create some special fun for them.
Her twenty year battle with Alzheimer's Disease has ended after several years in Los Angeles, then Napa, California, where she came to be loved and appreciated by those around her for her pep and participation in the face of her debility.
Surviving are three children, Timothy Krystopa of Vallejo, California, Patricia Robinson of Terryville, Connecticut, and Thomas Emily Krystopa of Raleigh, North Carolina; a sister, Betsy Smith of Unionville, Connecticut; six grandchildren, Jeffrey, Katelyn, and Christopher Robinson, and Brittney, Taylor, and Thomas Krystopa, Jr.; also several great-grandchildren.
