Edward Charles Lunsford, Sr., 92 of Columbus died Thursday, May 3, 2012 at his home. A memorial service will be 3:00 pm, Saturday, May 5, 2012 at his residence located at 945 Brighton Road, Columbus according to Cox Funeral Home, Hamilton.
Mr. Lunsford was born February 22, 1920 in Andalusia, AL, the son of Charlie Anderson Lunsford and Della Ward Lunsford. He was a retired Civil Service employee at Fort Benning. Mr. Lunsford was a WWII Navy veteran having served on the USS Enterprise. He was the widower of Dorothy Ruth Lunsford and was also preceded in death by a son, Joseph Lunsford.
Survivors include his son, Eddy Lunsford of Columbus; two daughters, Debra (Rickey) Meeks of Salem, AL, Rebecca (James) Foxworth of Columbus; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
