Edward Jerome Wynn Sr.

1951 - 2023

Edward Jerome “Jerry” Wynn Sr. was born on January 7, 1951 to the late Milton Wynn Sr. and the late Minnie Ann Wynn Pinn.  He was called home on October 27, 2023 in his home being surrounded and cared for by in-home family.

In addition to his parents Jerry was preceded in death by his wife and soulmate of 33 years, Corrine Hubbard Wynn and brother, Milton McKinnley Wynn Jr.

Jerry was a long time resident of Lynchburg, VA.  He was a faithful and long standing member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Red House, VA, where he served as the Sunday School Superintendent, Male Chorus President, a Trustee, Youth Sponsor and on the Adult Usher Board.

Mr. Jerry Wynn had a long standing career before retiring as the head of maintenance at the Virginian and Arlington Apartment buildings, under the Sentinel Properties.  Working hard during the week, and being active on the weekends between his family, friends, church life, and being an avid Cowboys fan, Mr. Wynn lived life to the fullest and loved his people hard, making him one of the kindest, well loved, funniest men that people adored.

He is survived by his five children, Shante Beverly (Julian), Kimberly Rogers (Lamont), Ebony Hubbard, Jasmine Hubbard (Ace) and Edward “EJ” Wynn; nine grandchildren, Terrence, Sanaa, Trinity, Evoni, Ivori, Jaeon, Kye, Kyla and Elliott; his sister, Carol Hamm; brother, Cecil Wynn (Pauline); in-laws, Samuel “Frankie” Hubbard (Georgia) and Vinnie Paige (Doniel); an army of special extended family, friends, and previous coworkers that will continue to have hundreds of special memories in their hearts.

A funeral service will be held 2pm on Friday, November 3, 2023 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Red House.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.  Family and friends will assemble at the church.  Condolences may be emailed to comfuneral@aol.com.
