I had the pleasure of meeting Ed through my friend Dennis Atherton at the reopening of ABC Harley Davidson when the Motor Company got them to expand thier business,

An Ode to Uncle Ed
by Rob Warrington

With kindness, wisdom, and larger than life soul,
You touched our lives, made our hearts whole,
A family friend, a guiding light,
A shining star on a darkest night

Your stories sparked memories, laughter, and cheer,
A legacy of love, a memory to hold dear,
Though your voice is silenced, your tales now told,
In our hearts, your memory will forever unfold

Rest now, dear friend, your...

Our hearts and thoughts are with you during this time of grieving. Please know that you are not alone in remembering a truly wonderful person that meant so much to so many.

Ed was a wonderful client and landlord. A great steward of the Clarkston Mills property and community at large. Always looked forward to a meeting or telephone call with him. A great historian and I sincerely regret not seeing him before his passing. My deepest condolences to Gretchen and family.

Sorry for your loss Gretchen, Bob and Peg. He was such a caring "boss". I'm sure he will be greatly missed.

Our deepest condolences to you, Gretchen, and your family on Ed’s passing. We love you both and were so grateful to have spent so many meaningful and entertaining times together. Ed was humbly generous, a class act, a true gentleman and a treasure; not only in living a fascinating life, but in his gift of storytelling. He could have gone toe-to-toe with the Dos Equis character for the title of “the most interesting man in the world” and no doubt would have won – because he was the real deal. ...

Ed was a hard worker that always tried to pick the right person to do the job. The bank was a labor of Love for him. He was rightfully proud of getting it started.

So sorry to hear of Ed’s passing, Gretchen. We use to have so much fun together many years ago. Great memories. What a wonderful man with such good humor and interested in community and life itself. My prayers and thoughts are with you.
Marilyn Fessler and family.

My deepest sympathies to Gretchen and the rest of the family. I enjoyed my long conversations with Ed over the years. One of the most engaging personalities I have ever known and a great Spartan! I will miss seeing him at the Clarkston Mills.
