Elaine F. Deja

1932 - 2024

Elaine Frances Deja (nee Szatek), 91, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2024 at Generations at Regency in Niles, Illinois.

Elaine is survived by her children Cheryl Deja and Dave (Sandy) Deja, her grandchildren Scott Deja and Amanda Deja, and her sister Dorothy Hillebold.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
 
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Dick Deja, her parents Frank and Verna Szatek, her brother Roy Szatek, and her sister Dorian (Roy) Kosinski.

Born on July 5, 1932, Elaine was a lifelong resident of Chicago, Illinois.  She spent the last 50 years living in Edison Park, and had been very active with Edison Park Youth sports and St. Juliana Church & School when her children were younger.  She had volunteered with the St. Juliana SPRED Group.  She was a eucharistic minister who also had volunteered distributing communion at Resurrection Hospital.  
 
She enjoyed being with family and friends, and always loved to be near her dog.  She will be greatly missed by many.

Visitation will be at the Skaja Terrace Funeral Home 7812 N. Milwaukee Avenue Niles on Sunday from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Funeral Monday 9:15 AM to St. Juliana Church Mass 10:00 AM. Interment Maryhill Cemetery. Funeral info: 847-966-7302.
