Elizabeth Inge Obituary

Very beloved Roanoke native Archer Inge, graduate from Patrick Henry High School, passed away sadly Monday, February 26, 2018 at Lewis Gale Hospital.  From the Inge family of the Stanford and Inge Sign Company, where she worked most of her career.

Archer was known by her followers to be a cheerleader of happiness and fun and the jokester of all social activity.  Much of this attributed to her fun-loving mother, Ann Inge of the Pettyjohn Family of Lynchburg, VA, Where the family were leaders in Christian Fellowship.

Archer was involved in many social groups during high school including her sorority and later a bowling league when she started her working career.  Archer was the life of the party, expert canasta player and word puzzle wiz.  She had a talent for finding novelty eyeglasses and She brought life to everyone else with her wit and wily ways.  She’s the little girl that never grew up, and there will be a short supply of chocolate chip cookies.   Our thanks to the kind doctors and nurses in The Lewis Gale Surgical Intensive Care Unit.  Also special thanks to step daughter Jennifer Najjum and grandson Lucas Fitz and 1st cousins, Stuart and Curtis Garner and 1st cousin, Rev. Tom Thomas and wife Pam.  She is survived by her sister Chandler and brother Jay.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 2, 2018 at Raleigh Court United Methodist Church.  A reception will follow the service.  Please send any memorial contributions to Raleigh Court United Methodist Church.

Dear Family, We are so sad to hear about the loss of Archer. She had such a great personality, and was a lot of fun in high school. I wish we had stayed in contact after then.

I am so sad for you all. You should not have to go through this again so soon (with 2 siblings). Randy was in my class at PHHS, when tragedy struck, and he was a delightful person, as well.

Archer's PH classmate, Tom Tirico, another really fun guy, just passed away, also. We can rest assured they are all together planning one great reunion party in Heaven.

God bless you in the difficult days ahead. Peace be with you.

Sincerely,
Vicki (Omer) & Chip Blasiole

Chan and Jay: So very sorry to learn of Archer's passing. She was a dear friend of my sister, Cathy Suttenfield, years ago. (Cathy died unexpectedly in November, 2014, at age 61.) May you know God's peace and love during the difficult times ahead. Who knows, perhaps Archer and Cathy are now holding hands, in awe of what is to come.

I'll always remember Archer as a great hostess. She always had a smile on her face and she made everybody feel special.

During one of the darkest times in my life when my mom passed, she very unexpectedly came to the funeral home. I hadn't seen her in years but the thoughtfulness of that visit made her seem like an angel from God. This woman will not be forgotten.

Condolences and love is sent to Chan and Jay. The pain from missing Archer will subside with time.

My Dad and Uncle, Malvin and Bill Overton, both worked at Stanford & Inge for years. Dad spoke of all the Inge Family often. We are sorry to hear of Archer's passing.

Went to school with Archer, and played kick ball in the street in front of her house. So sad to lose a class mate and friend.
