Elma Gayle Lucas, born October 12, 1948, in Indianapolis, Indiana

She passed away on January 12, 2026 due to her long courageous battle with Alzheimer’s 💜

Predeceased by her parents: Charles Douglas Lucas and Veronica Dale Lucas, and her granddaughter Kalynn Dale Curl.

Survived by her long-life partner Bail Spear and her three daughters Cheryl Lynn Iorio, Susan Lynette Walker & son-in-law Robert Walker, and Mylissa Gayle Woolridge & son-in-law Kevin Woolridge. Her eleven grandchildren Jessica Hosack, Nevada Lambeth, Ashley Hentges, Brok Hilderbrand, Rachel Layton, Emily Walker, Molly Walker, Megan McEntyre, Billy Clarke, Emily Woolridge and Ashley Woolridge, her fifteen great-grandchildren Waylen McCumber, Channing Hentges, Aubree Hentges,  Ethan Layton, Addison Hentges, Donna Davis, Aiden Hilderbrand, Emma Adkinson, Easton McEntyre, Dawson Clarke, Willow Zybriski, Eleanor Adkinson, Harper Layton, Walter Zybriski, Lacey Clarke and her three siblings, Roxie Lucas, Rebecca Lucas and Doug Lucas.

Gayle was a devoted partner, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who cherished her family above all else and would move mountains for them. Her selflessness, unwavering devotion, and dedication to those she loved were an inspiration to all who knew her.

Her passions included dancing, music, travel, RVing, and casino adventures, and she brought warmth, generosity, and light to every gathering she attended.

Services are private, limited to immediate family. We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support from our community, extended family, and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association are appreciated to advance awareness, support, and research.

Gayle’s love for God and worship filled her days, and we take comfort knowing she is now dancing and singing with the angels above..
