Emma Lee (Turley) Kearns, 89, of West Columbia, WV, went home to be with the Lord January 20, 2026, at Emogene Dolin Hospice House, Huntington, WV.
She was born on December 8, 1936, a daughter of the late John and Freda (James) Turley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Larry and Leland Turley; and sisters, Janice Cundiff and Marty Riggs.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Mason, WV and was a homemaker. In addition to being a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, Emma Lee was always active and involved in church. She had a beautiful alto voice and could play most anything on the piano after hearing it, as she was self-taught and played by ear. She loved to send cards and letters of encouragement to those she loved and cared about. This became her ministry in her later years. Her favorite scripture is found in Philippians 4:13. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. She proved this to be true repeatedly with her amazing strength that could only have come from the Lord.
Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Kenneth “Gerald” Kearns, of West Columbia; daughters, Dianna J (Joey) Roush of New Haven, WV, Lynn (Kelly) Hawk of Letart, WV, and Cynthia (Brad) Smith of West Columbia, WV; brother, Jim (Jo) Turley, and sister-in-law, Connie Turley. Grandchildren, Aaron Eades, Amber Darst, Derek Hawk, Kodi Hawk, Jordan Smith, Olivia Bond, and Elijah Smith; several great and great-great grandchildren.
The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to Carrie Kennedy for her loving care and kindness as well as Dr Lieving and his staff.
Following a private family graveside service, a memorial service for all her friends and loved ones will be held at Fairview Bible Church, Letart WV on Friday, January 23 at 12:30pm with a dinner following in the church fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, 3100 Staunton Road, Huntington, WV 25702.
Arrangements provided by Foglesong-Casto Funeral Home, Mason, WV.

Miss Emily made an instant friendly impression when we first moved to Gibbstown and met our neighbors.
Everytime we saw her regardless of the day or circumstances, she made you feel good and loved. Always so positive and uplifting.
Heavens gain and our loss. The Angels are rejoicing. Praying for strength and comfort for the family.
