Eric Verdaine Elston

1985 - 2013

Eric Verdaine Elston, Oakwood, Ohio passed away at 2:25 a.m. on May 1, 2013 at home, surrounded by his loving wife, daughter, and father-in-law.

Born on March 23, 1985 in Lima, Ohio, he was the son of Richard Eugene and Kelly Elston. On April 20, 2012, he was married to Josie Jane Nichole Oleszkewycz. They just recently celebrated their first anniversary.

Eric loved fixing cars and helping others with anything and everything. He loved fishing in his spare time. He accomplished a big goal in his life in becoming a firefighter for the Oakwood Volunteer Fire Department. Enjoying the outdoors with his family, he loved helping his wife plant flowers and playing outside with his daughter. He liked camping with the two most important people in his life: his wife and daughter. His daughter and wife were the light of his life. His daughter was daddy's little girl, and he enjoyed taking him everywhere that he went. He was a loving and loyal husband, great father, and will be missed by so many people. He will be missed by many, especially those that remember his infectious smile that could light up anyone's day. He enjoyed spending time with his own dad, with whom he looked up to a great deal.

Survivors include his wife Josie Elston and daughter, Zoey Elston; parents, Richard Elston and Kelly Elston, brothers, Dustin Elston, Daran Elston, Corey Elston, Robert Elston, and Rick Elston, Rian Elston; and sisters, Collen Elston, Angel Elston-Hibbard, Tammy Hernandez, Arin Elston, and Emily Sorg; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, uncles Keith Eblin and Ronald Elston, half-brother, Randall Elston, and half sister, Amber that died at birth.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed towards the funeral home to help with final expenses.
