Erma Elliott Obituary

Erma Ingram Elliott, of Roanoke, passed away on Friday, September 14, 2012. She is survived by a son, Stephen Elliott and wife, Veronica, of Chattanooga, Tennessee; a daughter, Betty Remington, of Roanoke; a son-in-law, Randy Remington, of Roanoke; and a son-in-law, Stanley Glass, of Macungie, Pennsylvania. She leaves four grandchildren, Cindy Kay and husband, David, of Phoenix, Arizona; Chris Elliott and wife, Kelley of Corning, New York; Stacye Seay and husband, Whit, of Hayes, Virginia and Cody Remington, of Roanoke. She also leaves two great-granddaughters, Sheila and Robyn Kay, of Denver, Colorado and one great-great-granddaughter, Lindsay Kay, of Denver, Colorado and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 71 years, Sam J. Elliott; daughter, Gail Glass; great-grandson, Patrick Kay; sisters, Ila Kerrick and Hazel Brown; brothers, Junior Ingram and Elvin Ingram and her parents, Abram and Marie Ingram.
Erma retired from selling real estate in 1986. She was a member of Grandin Court Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the church choir. She also was an accomplished piano player and enjoyed many shopping excursions.
Services will be held at Oakeys South Chapel On Monday, September 17, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Kevin Meadows and Rev. Carol Johnston officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Burial Park. The family will receive visitors at Oakeys South Chapel on Sunday, September 16, 2012 from 4 to 7 p.m. Flowers would be welcome or donations could be made to Alzheimers disease, Rke/Salem Chapter ADRDA, 2728 Colonial Avenue, SW Suite 2, Roanoke, VA 24015 in Ermas name. Betty, my mother and I will miss seeing your mother at SRNH. She was a lovely person in so many ways. Hold on to the many good memories, they will comfort and sustain you.
