Ersel Lavaughn Williams

1934 - 2026

     Ersel Lavaughn Williams, 91 of Carthage, Missouri passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026 at Oak Pointe of Carthage. Ersel was born on July 25, 1934 in Barton County, Missouri to Alvie and Opal (Taffner) Syfert. She worked many years as an Executive assistant for University of California Irvine. Ersel was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church of Carthage. 

     Ersel was united in marriage to Russell Williams on September 4 1953. He preceded her in death on January 13, 2021. Survivors include , a sister, June Talley. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister, Rosetta Templeton.             

        Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Crossroads Baptist Church. Interment will be at the Park Cemetery mausoleum.
