Ervin R. Meier, Jr., 62, of Clinton, Iowa, died Wednesday morning, March 6, 2013 at Genesis Medical Center, DeWitt, Iowa.
Ervin Richard Meier, Jr. was born September 30, 1950 in Davenport, Iowa, to Ervin and Lois (Carber) Meier. He was a graduate of Central Community Schools, DeWitt. Erv worked as a pipefitter much of his life. He was employed for Jacobs Engineering of Clinton for many years.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, grilling out and cooking. Erv had a fondness for children and animals and was huge Hawkeye and Bear fan.
Surviving are his sister, Connie Schultz of DeWitt; his children, Jennifer, Carl, Terry, Squeaks, Missy, Mike and Mary; numerous grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Preceding Erv in death were his parents and siblings, Richard Meier, Robert Meier and Carla Garrity.
The family will receive friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 9:00 until 10:45 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013. A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Funeral Home. Interment will be at Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport.

Was very sorry to hear of Erv's passing. Great person, great classmate (69).

To Ervin's Family, I had many good times with Erv, along with others in High School. He was a very special Happy Giving person. Years later I met him again at ADM and we never connected. I feel bad for your loss.

Connie and family-sorry to hear about Erv. Lots of good memories from the Coffee Shop! Glad we got to visit at Wal-Mart not long ago. Look to the happy memories for comfort.

One by one our family are leaving to go to our final family gathering. Erv was one of a kind, his laugh, his smiles, and his bear hugs when he would see you.
