Eugene “Gene” Guilbault passed away on June 16, 2020 at the age of 89. Loving husband of the late Lucienne.
Beloved father of Lucy (Zach) Taylor.
Dear grandpa of Thomas and Scott Taylor.
Proud great grandpa of Natalie, Jacqueline, Evelyn and Vivian.
Eugene was a man who wore many hats. He lived life to the fullest and enjoyed every minute.
He was a hard worker and wasn’t afraid to break a sweat. Being a perfectionist, he never settled for good enough. He worked construction and was meticulous with every detail. He was the man to call if you needed something painted, and you could ask any lady in Dearborn at the time how great of a job he did hanging wallpaper!
Eugene was a true adventurer. In his spare time, it wouldn’t be at all unusual to find Eugene flying a plane, or even jumping out of one! Boating and water skiing weren’t uncommon either.
There were many other hobbies he dabbled in. He loved billiards. One day he decided to give music a try. He found that he loved the banjo. Every winter Eugene would go to Marco Island in Florida. He joined a band called the Marco Island Strummers. They played every weekend and many different events.
Most of all, Eugene loved his family. He spent a lot of time building memories that will last. His grandsons will never forget spending the summers helping him tend to the tomato plants in the garden. There are many other traditions and activities that will be missed.
Eugene was a one of a kind man and will be missed by all that were lucky enough to have had him in their lives.

Many great memories of uncle Eugene from all the times we were at the Cottage in Canada. I remember several brothers playing there instruments at the Camp and at there house in Sherbrooke. Several of the brother were always joking around Gene, Andy, Lucian Pete and my Dad were always telling funny stories. Always enjoyed all th times we spent together in Canada some of the best memories I have growing up. Family gathering in Canad were always memorable and great times. The relationship between the brothers and sisters of the Guilbault was exceptional. I will miss uncle Gene
