Faith was a graduate of Farmerville High School and North East Louisiana State University “NLU”. She then received her Masters in Education from Louisiana Tech University. Faith taught school at East Union Academy and in Junction City, AR. She was very proud of her accomplishments in education. Having served as a teacher, librarian, and councilor, with over 35 plus years. Faith was a huge sports fan. She loved watching local college sports teams like LSU and LA Tech and the NFL Saints football team. She was an excellent cook and mother. Faiths grandkids were her joy and she loved attending their sporting events and other events as “Gran”.  She was a faithful member of 1st Assembly of God in Farmerville where her father and mother started the original church in a tent in the 1940s. Faith was known as a prayer warrior that many called on as her belief in prayer sustained her relationship with Jesus.

Faith was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Clark Elliot Matthews; parents, T.W. and Clara Meta Moore Wagnon; sisters, Katherine Goyne and Mary Buckley; and her brothers, John and Cortez Wagnon.

She is survived by her two sons, Steven Matthews (Tammy) and Rusty Matthews (Terra); three grandchildren, Sabrina and Riley Matthews and Quinn Matthews; nieces, Sandy Buckley, Wanda Roan, and Glenda Salley; church family and friends; and a host of other nieces and nephews.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Riley Matthews, Jonathan Smith, Joseph Smith, Andy Roan, and J.R. Tanksley.
