A memorial service for Ms. Faith Wagnon Matthews, age 85 of Farmerville, LA, will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at 2:00 PM at First Assembly of God in Farmerville with Bro. Robbie Lawson officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Linville under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.
Faith was a graduate of Farmerville High School and North East Louisiana State University “NLU”. She then received her Masters in Education from Louisiana Tech University. Faith taught school at East Union Academy and in Junction City, AR. She was very proud of her accomplishments in education. Having served as a teacher, librarian, and councilor, with over 35 plus years. Faith was a huge sports fan. She loved watching local college sports teams like LSU and LA Tech and the NFL Saints football team. She was an excellent cook and mother. Faiths grandkids were her joy and she loved attending their sporting events and other events as “Gran”. She was a faithful member of 1st Assembly of God in Farmerville where her father and mother started the original church in a tent in the 1940s. Faith was known as a prayer warrior that many called on as her belief in prayer sustained her relationship with Jesus.
Faith was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Clark Elliot Matthews; parents, T.W. and Clara Meta Moore Wagnon; sisters, Katherine Goyne and Mary Buckley; and her brothers, John and Cortez Wagnon.
She is survived by her two sons, Steven Matthews (Tammy) and Rusty Matthews (Terra); three grandchildren, Sabrina and Riley Matthews and Quinn Matthews; nieces, Sandy Buckley, Wanda Roan, and Glenda Salley; church family and friends; and a host of other nieces and nephews.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Riley Matthews, Jonathan Smith, Joseph Smith, Andy Roan, and J.R. Tanksley.
Special thank you to Arbor Lake Nursing Home and Elara Caring Hospice for taking such great care of Faith.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 Pm to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at 1st Assembly of God.

Faith was a lovely person; she very well lived up to her name, living life being devoted to God and an excellent example to all who knew her.
