Not sure what to say?

Ken was my children's teacher, who also gave selflessly to the students through years as a school sports announcing. He was a historian of not only South Portland, but Portland and gave his time freely as a volunteer sharing this joy with others. He later became a client and we worked closely together through the years. It was sad to see see Ken start to forget, my office knew early on things were not right and we did all we could to watch over him. While he often paid a bill twice which...

Sitting in a BnB in Cape Town, South Africa, I was startled to read Ken's obit. He was my date for our senior prom at SPHS in 1965. He was a sweet guy. We were both very shy - and that was our only date. I lost track of him after our time as classmates at USM. It sounds like he had a wonderful career teaching kids. Deep peace of the shining stars to you, Ken.

Ken was a longtime teacher at Mahoney MS (1972-1994) never missing a day of work. He also directed the high school and middle school indoor track seasons and the outdoor championships in SMAA and Middle School Leagues from 1980-2000, and officiating from 1966-2012. He dedicated his life to sports for high school and middle school and will always be remembered as putting athletes first in all situations. Rest in Peace Ken, we miss you already.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Losing a loved one is painful but please take comfort in God's words found at Psalm 145:18,19.

Mr. Jones, I will remember you fondly. Whether it was the several trips to Horseshoe Pond or working for you at track meets over seven or eight years, those were all positive, enjoyable experiences for me.

I'm a bit sad not to see any other entries here.
