Felicidad Martinez, 79, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2014, at home.
Felicidad "Fely" was born in Manila, Philippines on August 12, 1934. She was the third daughter of Christina and Bruno Ramos.
Fely was preceded in death by her father, Bruno Ramos, her sister, Aurora Ramos Aragones, brother in law, Juan Aragones, her brother Ben Ramos, and brother in law Domingo DeVera, and nephew Mario DeVera.
Left to cherish Fely's memory is her husband of 45 years, Alfonso "Al" Martinez. They were married in 1968 in the Philippines and lived there until they relocated here in Virginia Beach in 1972, where they became members of Ascension Catholic Church and various filipino groups including the San Lorenzo Choir. They enjoyed various church activities and traveling together. She is also survived by her Mother, Christina Felarca Ramos, age 101, her sisters Paz DeVera and Letty Ramos, and her brother Bruno "Johnny" Ramos, sister in law Lita Ramos. Fely did not have any children of her own but had a host of loving nieces and nephews both here in the U.S and Philippines and many cousins and longtime friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 11:00 am at Ascension Catholic Church .Please visit www.woodlawngroup.com to leave a message of condolence for the family.
