When my siblings and I were in pre-school, our parents would leave us in your care in the morning and you will to take us to and from school (classes were divided into AM/PM session - PM kami) riding your owner-type jeep and we would always scramble on who gets the seat beside you. You would always entertain us with magic tricks and stories, buying tinapay during miryenda while seating by the terrace at your house in Seiran. I dont remember what year you left us for the States, but I vividly recall the last time you visited us here in the Philippines. It was 13 years ago, I was at school, it was the last day of examinations and classes were dismissed at 11:30am. I asked Daddy to fetch me so I can see you. You said we should go out for lunch, and we did. The rest of your stay, I could no longer remember. Throughout the years, phone calls were scarce and I could only see you through photos uploaded on Facebook. We tried once to visit you there when I was already a College student, but we were denied during the visa application interview. Our family said we would try again after a few years so that we could spend time with you, but, we were a step too late. Rest easy now Lolo Mimo. Enjoy your time together with the Lord and His legions of Angels. I will miss you and I love you! ❤

A public servant - its so easy to overlook it, but thats how I will always remember you, that you were once an elected public official.
I witnessed how people would approach you for help, be it to support sports leagues, to get hired for a job or to be their wedding sponsor. Even long before you were elected as a Barangay Captain, you had already helped so many.
Some time in your early life, you were able to better a lot of lives. With these thoughts, rest in peace, Uncle. ❤
