Frances Louise Via Obituary

Frances Louise “Lou” Via went peacefully home to be with her Lord and Savior in the early morning hours of December 14, 2025.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18, from 1:00–2:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m., both at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Lou was born on June 6, 1930, in Electra, Texas, to the late H.A. and Nancy A. (Lloyd) Hilley. She graduated from Electra High School in 1948 and later attended Draughon’s Business College. On June 5, 1970, she married Bill Via in Wichita Falls, where they built a life rooted in faith, friendship, and service.

Lou retired in May 1985 from InterFirst Bank (formerly City National Bank), following a dedicated career. She was active and athletic throughout her life, enjoying tennis, volleyball, and especially softball. In the 1950s, she proudly played on the Miller & Miller Motor Freight softball team, which advanced to the world tournament—an accomplishment she always cherished.

Lou and Bill were devoted members of Southside Baptist Church, where she served faithfully as a church hostess. Their church community held a special place in their hearts, and they treasured the many friendships formed there over the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill Via; her brothers, Bob and J.W Hilley.; her sisters, Katharine Shires and Myrtle Morrow; her daughters, Cindy and Paula; and her son, Ronnie.

She is survived by her sons, Mike Dilbeck, Kenneth Via, and Tony Via; three granddaughters; and a large and loving extended family of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and chosen family.

The family gratefully acknowledges the compassionate care and kindness shown to Lou and her loved ones by the staff of Presbyterian Manor, the Perkins-Prothro Health Center, her dear Southside Baptist Church family, and so many friends and family.

Memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church of Wichita Falls, the Good Samaritan Fund of Presbyterian Manor, or the charity of your choice.

Aunt Louise was the glue that held the family together. She was always ready to lean a helping hand. She loved her family and a long list of longtime friends. Her laughter and smile never failed to lift my spirits. She will be missed, but always remember
