Francis Marion Walker

1942 - 2026

Francis Marion Walker, 83, of Elkview, died Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at her home.

She was born June 30, 1942, at Spencer, the daughter of the late George Henry and Lora Blosser Kemmner.

Francis was a retired secretary for the Commissioner of the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection Agency and a member of Clendenin Pentecostal Church.

She was an avid church pianist.

Survivors include her husband, Rev. Frederick Walker of Elkview; children, Duane Scott Walker of Sissonville and Chere’ Michele Monk (William L. Monk) of Dunbar; six grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; sixteen adopted great grandchildren; brother, Blain (Linda) Sheppard of North Carolina; special friend, Jon Parsons of Spencer.  Bonus Daughters; Janie Hewitt of Indiana, Jamie Cochran of Ohio and Lisa Collins of Belpre, Ohio.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 30 at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. William L. Monk officiating. Burial will be in the Walker-Freeland Cemetery, Spencer.

Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.
