Franco Sciullo Obituary

Franco Sciullo, 56, an employee of the Village of Elmwood Park for 6 years, died Saturday, July 15th, after a short battle with cancer. Frank was born on August 14,1966 in Italy. He came to the states when he was just 5 years old. He grew up in Elmwood Park and has lived there most of his life. Devoted father to daughters, Sela and Christina, son of Sabbia (mother) and the late Gabriele (2018), brother to Nicky and Elena, and uncle to Nicholas, Gabriella, Stella, and Andrew. In 1996, Frank married Lena Cocco and although they divorced, shared a lifelong friendship and were committed to raising their daughters together. Frank enjoyed working and never complained. In his younger years, Frank worked at Claudio Bakery in Elmwood Park for over 10 years. In 1995, he went to work for U.S. Smokeless Tobacco in various positions for over 20 years. In 2020, the Elmwood Park Community and Recreation Center was built and that is where his love for bocce began. Frank was all about getting along with others. He would do anything for anyone and never expected anything in return. Frank loved his two daughters, Sela and Christina, more than he did himself and only wanted the best for his girls always. Frank was truly a diamond in the ruff with a hard exterior shell, but was a big softy at heart. He loved his family and friends. He enjoyed playing bocce, watching a game, and hanging out. Frank was a man of character and always respectful to others. Frank knew and valued his priorities. He was simple and uncomplicated, something we all need to be more of in this complicated world.

Cari Compari Sciiullo

I was shocked and saddened to hear the news about Frank’s passing! Frank’s smile was contagious and his positive energy rubbed off on others he was near.

Frank always made me smile and laugh!
I enjoyed watching him umpire my son’s travel baseball games just as mush as he loved to umpire them.

Sending the entire Sciullo family hugs, love, and positive energy during this most difficult time.

Love Jeff, Vince, and Anthony Bilotti
