Frank passed away at his home, surrounded by his family on October 6, 2019.
Frankie Jarrett Reischling, was born May 25, 1951 in the rural town of Dixon, Mo. He had a diverse career, working in factories in the industrial Midwest, touring the globe and serving during Vietnam and Middle Eastern conflicts. After retiring as Sergeant 1st Class in the Army, he spent his time pursuing a variety of occupations: building his own business as a mechanic, before using those skills for the Army as a helicopter mechanic, then finally fronting his own pest control service. He retired after heart surgery to spend his time collecting vehicles, always with a plan for how they could be restored. A family man, a protector, a man of humor and love, he will be deeply and forever missed.
As a father, he made even the smallest of road trips an adventure where street signs and billboards served as an opportunity to tell jokes. A snake slithering across the front door of our lakefront home was an opportunity to show a screaming daughter how he could manage the critters. Usually he was the protector of animals great and small. A raccoon side-swiped by his car was worthy of a search and rescue mission, a turtle crossing the road warranted a pull-over and carry to the shoulder. He carried a box of dog treats in his truck during his tenure as a pest control business owner – homes of central Louisiana often having two or three of them barking as he pulled up, and he passed out treats to them all before treating the homes themselves.
His thoughts were always of others before himself. Whether this meant a 1,000 mile trip to North Carolina to help his daughter after a car wreck, or another 1,000 mile journey to Ohio to help a daughter move in – then out – of an apartment; whether it meant bringing dinner home to his family every night, calling each member to ask her preference, he was a man who gave himself, and gave with all the love he had.
Frank was preceded in death by his son, Frankie Rayh Reischling.
He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Reischling, daughters, Rachel Reischling of Anacoco and Katie Kapotsy of Shreveport and three grandchildren.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to leave a message here. Put simply, he was a good man. He had a large sense of humor, watched all kinds of period dramas with me, and loved nothing more than to hear me sing and play. He always clapped at the finale.
