Franklin Doty Miller, 91, of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, passed away March 25, 2026, at his home. He was born June 24, 1934, in Rogers, Arkansas, to Bryant and Hattie Mae Doty Miller. Franklin graduated from Pea Ridge High School in 1951 and later earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas in 1955. During his college years, he was a fraternity brother in Lambda Chi Alpha.
In 1960, Franklin married Helen Sooter, and together they had two children, Lyndon and Kay Miller. Franklin was an entrepreneur, starting his first business, Frank’s Country Meats, followed by Miller’s Seed Company. He later ventured into real estate development. After retiring, he pursued a hobby business operating a lumber yard known as M&M Timbers.
Later in life, Franklin’s marriage to Helen dissolved and in 1995, he met Nadine George Kiehl, and they were married in 1998. Together, they built a home on land Franklin owned on the ridge in Pea Ridge, Arkansas. Franklin loved this home and took great pride in showing visitors the beautiful woodwork throughout. The couple frequently hosted gatherings, including annual Halloween parties that sometimes welcomed over 100 guests. They also enjoyed traveling to places such as Cabo San Lucas, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Hawaii, and Cancun. In later years, they spent January and February in Destin, Florida, where they built a close circle of friends and enjoyed entertaining. Franklin and Nadine also partnered in business beginning in 1995, developing real estate throughout Pea Ridge and surrounding areas.
Franklin was known for his sense of humor and his ability to make people laugh. He loved telling jokes and was often described as a “walking history channel,” frequently testing others’ knowledge, though he never asked a question he didn’t already know the answer to. He was preceded in death by his parents; his two sisters, Lois Jean Sutter and Marilyn Mooberry; his nephew, Mark Mooberry and step-son, Michael Duffy.
He is survived by his wife, Nadine Miller of Pea Ridge, Arkansas; his children, Lyndon Miller of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, Kay Miller of Bella Vista, Arkansas; his grandson Zachary; great-grandson, Kandon; his brother Kinley Miller (Jerri) of Pea Ridge, Arkansas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by two stepsons, Terry Duffy (Jennifer) of Norfolk, Nebraska, and Dennis Duffy (Pat) of Guide Rock, Nebraska; a stepdaughter, Denise Duffy of Smith Center, Kansas; and five step-grandchildren: Tyler Horning (Traci) of South Dakota, Travis Robb, Taylor Robb (Ashley) of Bridgeport, Nebraska, Alex Duffy of Denver, Colorado, and Amy Duffy of Norfolk, Nebraska; step-great-grtandchildren, Hazel, and Brooks Horning.
