Frederick "Fred"'s Obituary

Was born September 2, 1948 in Elmira the son of Eugene and Genevieve (Ribble) Beard passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center at the age of 64. He leaves his childhood sweetheart of 50 years, wife, Kathleen (Crain) Beard; sons, Fred (Anita) Beard Jr., James (Kim) Probst and Robert (Shay) Probst; grandchildren, Fred III, Eric and Amber Beard; sister, Virginia Steele; brothers, Barry (Diane), Rickey (Kathy) and Dave (Mindy); special nephew and niece, Mike and Lori Beard with Judd, Adam and Ryan; friends, Howard (Virginia) Ellis and Ruth Golden and J.R.; along with many nieces and nephews, also his faithful companion "Harley" His parents, Eugene and Genevieve and brother Daniel and family predeceased Fred. He retired from Wenzel Contracting after 31 years of dedicated service. His hobbies included: working, hunting, camping, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family and friends. His family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Friday, April 5, 2013 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral services honoring his life will be held there on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 11:00 AM. The Reverend Edward Crandall will officiate. Interment will follow in the Fitzsimmons Cemetery, Southport, NY. Memorial donations in his name may be directed to the Falck Cancer Center, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
