Gabrielle Mireille Hanno joined our Lord on February 10, 2023. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Henry Hanno in a private ceremony at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. The cemetery overlooks the beautiful city of San Diego, where they started their married life together. Gabrielle was born in 1932 in the beautiful Mediterranean town of Cherchell, Algeria, then a French colony. Always a lover of travel, Gabrielle lived in six different countries throughout her lifetime and enjoyed the culture of so many more places she visited. She was a devoted mother to her four children, Michael Hesse, Janine Hesse, Marc Hanno and Monique Comeau; loving grand-mère to five granddaughters Amanda, Nicole, Alexandra, Julie and Maya; and best friend to her surviving sister Andrée Sprink. Gabrielle was an accomplished cook and talented artist, showing her love through her delicious international cuisine and gorgeous artwork. She was a blessing from God to all who knew her and cherished her.
As a service of the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, friends may sign the family's on-line guestbook at Schrader.com.

I remember her from when I was a little girl. She was our aunt Gaby. So sweet and patient with this I'll mannered neice, allowing me to "try on" some of her perfume. So sorry for the loss of our dear Aunt Gaby.

What a beautiful person, inside and out! I remember when my hair was turning gray and she recommended "Nice & Easy" home hair color (her hair was always so beautiful). I still use it today. Gabrielle was good & kind! Blessings & Love to her kids and grandkids!
