Gary Allen Carr

1949 - 2016

Gary Allen Carr, age 66 of Maysville, WV, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA. He was born in Keyser, WV on September 23, 1949, the son of the late Julius Carr and Jessie (Berg) Carr. On June 20, 1970, Gary married his wife of 46 years, Bonnie (Evans) Carr, who survives in Maysville.

Mr. Carr attended Petersburg High School. He was a member of Cabins Assembly of God in Cabins, WV and the Bear Hunters Association. Before his illness he was a Carpenter. Gary enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Carr is survived by: 3 daughters, Michelle Bennett and husband, Troy, of Maysville, Cary Runion and husband, Mike, of Maysville, Amanda Hall and husband, Brandon, of Maysville; 3 sisters, Elma Layton of New Creek, WV, Geneva Hedrick and husband, Robert, of Belington, WV and Geraldine Evans and husband, Golden, of Maysville; 1 twin brother, Larry Carr of Maysville; 4 grandsons, Aaron "A.J." Runion, Zacary Runion, Hunter Hall and Kason Hall; one special granddaughter, Brittany Simmons and one special great-grandson, Raiden Simmons. In addition to his parents, Mr. Carr is preceded in death by a brother, Paul Carr.

Mr. Carr's family will receive friends on Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 5-8 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV. Pastor Coleman Clark and Rev. Stephen Landis will officiate funeral services on Monday, June 27, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Cabins Assembly of God in Cabins, WV. Interment will be at the Barger Cemetery on Jordan Run Rd.
