Gary's grand vision will live on at Fox Run Golf Club and many other beautiful golf courses which he designed. I am happy to have known and worked with him.

I would like to add that Gary & I were very close in the early eighties through his very first year in St.Louis. After that we remained friends. He will always be in my heart even though we went our separate ways. He was a wonderful person. Really loved my cat Charlie. Sorry for your list Ron , Julie, Pat & Sadie, Pat & Gary's dog.

Though our time working together was brief, I always enjoyed spending time with Gary because of his humor and friendliness. He was a terrific golf course architect and I have always enjoyed playing his golf courses. He will be missed by every person who got to know him personally. My condolences to the family. Heaven has a new 18 on the way!

I met Gary in the 90s when we worked with Roger Erb on the newspaper Tee Box Times. He was kind, generous and fun and gladly shared his knowledge and love of the game with everyone. My life was enriched by knowing him and my deepest sympathies go to Pat and Ron and Julie. He will be greatly missed.

I'm eternally grateful to Gary for sharing his faith, which was an inspiration to me. Gary's good words and insight were most helpful in shaping my faith in God. Thank you, Gary.

I never actually met Gary. I only knew him through his life's work: designing golf courses. Growing up in the St. Louis area, it was not easy to play a lot of golf without playing a course designed by Gary. His courses were not always the fanciest or most highly touted, but they were always the most enjoyable to play. The golfing community of St. Louis will always be thankful to Gary for his lasting contributions to this region.
My sincerest condolences to his family and friends. I am so sorry for your loss.

On behalf of the leadership and membership of the Manchester Community Band, we wish to express our deepest condolences to Gary's family. Gary was a founding member of the Manchester Community Band and played from 2013 to 2017. He was a beloved and welcoming member of our clarinet section. Among many things we will remember about him was his musical cane that was always at his side that he would play for us on request. He will be sorely missed. We wish you all peace in your memories of a life well lived.

I came to know Gary when he started attending our weekly Chapel services at Lutheran Hour Ministries for several years. I'm so blessed to have met him and want to express my sympathies to his family and friends. He was a very kind gentle man. The world was definitely a better place because of him. God bless.

I had the privilege to meet Mr. Gary Kern on a golf course project, and, in my brief times working with him it was clear why he was so successful. He was very articulate, knowledgeable, and professional. But also I was struck by how nice he was to me and our crew, sorry for your loss. His work lives on in all of his great golf courses he designed.
