To the Family, Georgie was a wonderful man and will be missed greatly in the community. JC caught for him in the Mountain Empire League and considered him a great athlete. All of you will be in our thoughts and prayers in the days ahead.

I am sorry to hear of George’s passing. He was one of finest men I have ever known and as good of a Baseball Pitcher as I ever caught. (And I caught a lot including in college at Virginia Tech.) I first met George in the summer of 1977 after my 8th grade year when my dad arraigned for me to play with Patterson in the old Mountain View League. I worked at Volvo Truck with George for many years when he talked about God sometimes he would cry because he loved the Lord so family be Blessed .
