George Campbell

1958 - 2012

George R. "Porgie" Campbell was born on June 29, 1958 to George Russell and Beatrice Campbell in Chicago Illinois.
He attended elementary school in Chicago and high school in Rockford. He later received his GED. George held several jobs as an unskilled laborer.
George believed in the Lord and rededicated his life to Christ in May 2012.
After a long ongoing battle with illness, on June 28, 2012, the day before his 54th birthday, the Ultimate Party Planner called George home for a heavenly birthday bash.
George was predeceased by his father. He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother Beatrice Gulley (Wardell), and his five children Terrance Pickett, Saleena Gulley, Shayla Thompson, Iroctanya Gulley (Rocky), and George Campbell Jr; one honorary daughter Toyisha Powell,brother David McLaurin (Nicole), sister Delicia Harris (Antwon) 12 grandchildren and one uncle Robert Baymon and a host of other relatives and friends including his dear special friend and caregiver Lucinda Germann.
Services will be held 11:00a.m. Monday July 9, 2012 at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church 301 Klines Avenue with pastor Calvin Malone officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00a.m. until the time of service.
