George Jones Obituary
George Maurice Jones Sr., age 76 of Malvern, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025. George was born in Bellevue, Ohio on July 23, 1949 to the late Virginia Collett.
George worked in the steel industry for many years as a ladle craneman. He worked at US Steel, Republic, and Timken. George was an avid bowler and loved his Friday night league. He also enjoyed music and loved collecting albums. He taught himself how to play the guitar and tinkered playing for hours on end. George adored his cats.
George is survived by two daughters, Rebecca (Kevin) Masters of Malvern and Jennifer (Lee) Hlavacek of Canton; five grandchildren: Chase, Channing, Lucas, Ashley, and Carrington; many nieces and nephews; a brother, Redvers (Barb) Collett of Canton; a sister, Joan (Doug) Domineck of Canton; and his special love, Lisa Smith who has been with George for the last nine years. Lisa poured her heart and soul into caring for George.
George was preceded in death by a son, George Jones Jr.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Gramma Tammy's, 319 Nassau Street West, East Canton Ohio 44730 on Sunday, November 30, 2025 from 1 to 4 pm.
