George G. Scott Jr.

1951 - 2025

 George G. Scott Jr passed away in his home in West Charleston VT. the evening of Dec. 2nd 2025. He was born Sept. 18th in Newport VT. to the late George G. Scott Sr and Lura Scott. George went on a blind date April 30th 1975 and met the love of his life Susan (Kimball) Scott. They were married in a white church in Connecticut July 12th 1975. They welcomed their first child Heather (Deida) Scott May 12th 1977 and their second Eric Scott Sept. 8th the following year. They moved around a bit before settling in their forever home here in West Charleston VT in 1989. He welcomed his first grandchild Brittany Scott in May of 1996 earning his favorite title “Papa”. Two years later that title grew with two more grandchildren, Eric Scott Jr and Jesse Deida. George loved driving (sometimes a little too fast in his younger years) so naturally he started a career driving for Winston’s out of Troy and Mcdermotts in Coventry before retiring in 2013. He was surprised with two more grandkids Abbey Deida in 2011 and Ty Deida in 2013. George loved the extra time that retirement gave him with his family. You’d often find him dancing and singing with the great grandkids or cussing out some old “junk” he was puttering on. He loved playing horseshoes and listening to music. He also enjoyed aimless drives with his wife taking roads just to see where they’d go or driving to Maine to visit his in-laws.
     George goes on to join his parents Lura and George Sr, his brothers Brian and Earl Sr, Mother in-law Velma Kimball, Father in-law Loyd Kimball and his great-grandson Maddox Murray.
       George will be forever missed by his wife of 50 years Susan Scott. His children Eric Scott and wife Trulie Scott, Heather Deida and husband Carmelo Deida. By his grandchildren Brittany-Leigh Scott and boyfriend Jeremy Moulton, Eric Scott Jr and wife Alyssa, Jesse Deida and girlfriend Chantelle Hamel, Abbey Lynn Deida and Ty Ayden Deida, Chris Bagley, Hunter McAllister, Hannah and Ryan Brothers, and Shannon and Skylar Trombley. By his great grandchildren Caidance, Carson, and Declan Murray, Margo Moulton, Alex, Azlyn, and Kenai Scott. His brother-in-law Rick Kimball and his daughters Stephanie and Tiffany. And By long time family friends Donald Buck and Kyler Baker and April LePage.
