Gilbert Rodriguez May 10, 1953 - January 14, 2020
On Tuesday, January 14, 2020, Gilbert Rodriguez Sr. of Bakersfield, California passed away in his beloved home at the age of 66.
He believed in God and had a good heart.
He was preceded in death by his Mother Stella Beatrice Sepeda, Sisters: Irene Salas and Andrea Garcia.
Gilbert is survived by his daughter Priscilla Cecilia Rodriguez, Sons: Gilbert Rodriguez J.r. and Alexander John Rodriguez, Brothers: Candelario Garcia and Jaime Garcia. Grandchildren: Selina Rodriguez, Alexander John Rodriguez JR, Daniel Rodriguez, Leopoldo Rodriguez, Behrouz Rodriguez Marquez, Xochitl Rodriguez, Azariah Gilbert Rodriguez, and one more on the way. Aunts: Victoria Hernandez, Mary Olivares , Christina Campos and numerous loving nieces, nephews, and relatives.
Gilbert was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to everyone. He loved his LowRiders, motorcycles, the Ocean and most importantly his Children and Grandchildren. He had a free happy spirit, a big dimple smile, and he knew many people. He never married but loved her deeply Esmeralda Garcia (our mother).
A special thank you to the staff at Hight street nursing facility for their loving care and support during his time of need and while in their care. Also, the family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude towards Alma’s Funeral home & Crematory for being very accommodating and understanding during this difficult time.
Visitation will begin with a Rosary prayer at 7:00 pm at Alma Funeral Home and Crematory on Thursday, January 30, 2020.
Funeral services for Gilbert will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bakersfield on Friday, January 31, 2020, services will begin at 11:00 am. Prayer will be given by Father Miguel and eulogy will be read by his admirable dear cousin Elinor Torres. Gilbert’s final resting place will be at GreenLawn Cemetery on River Blvd. Bakersfield.
Help us celebrate this O.G. with memories, laughs and good- times. Reception will follow after the services.
