Gregory J. Wofford

1953 - 2026

Gregory J. Wofford passed away on January 28, 2026, in New Braunfels. He was born on August 4, 1953, in San Antonio to Thomas E. and Allene Wofford. Shortly after, the family moved to New Braunfels and he attended Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School and then New Braunfels High School, graduating in the Class of 1971. Greg went on to attend Southwest Texas State University and The University of Texas at Austin.

Early in his career, he worked on a survey crew and later managed several businesses. More recently, he transported many students safely to class and extracurricular activities as a school bus driver in Hays ISD.

Greg faithfully attended Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He enjoyed Longhorn football and was an avid reader. He particularly enjoyed keeping up with his daughter and her family.

Greg is survived by his daughter Courtney (Joseph) Pavlovsky and his grandsons Levi and Jase Pavlovsky; his brothers Dr. Brien (JoAnn) Wofford and Dr. Michael (Ann) Wofford and sister Becky (Fletcher) Ricks along with several nephews and nieces.

He will be dearly missed. May he rest in peace.     

He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas E. and Allene Wofford and brother Thomas “Gary” Wofford.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on February 5, 2026, at 10:00 am at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in New Braunfels, preceded by a Rosary at 9:30 am. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery and there will be a reception afterward at the church.
