LAKE GEORGE-Gwen Perry, 86, of Lake George, New York, passed away on December 1, 2017.
She was born September 21, 1931 in Susquehanna, New York to Basil and Alma (Pendorf) Payne.
Gwen spent her childhood and primary school years in Sidney, NY where she graduated Sidney High School before attending school in Ithaca where she studied music and the violin. She later moved to Washington DC to work at the Pentagon in government administration.
She is survived by her three children, Gary Michael (Susie) Perry of Scottsdale, AZ, Terry (Marie) Perry of Leesburg, VA, and Jerry (Kathi) Perry of Congers, NY; three grandchildren, Kelly Shaw of Gilbert, AZ, Brian Perry of Tempe, AZ and Lee Perry of Leesburg, VA; and two great-grandchildren, Brody and Easton Shaw.
Gwen was a long time resident of Lake George, New York and worked twenty plus years for the Town of Queensbury. After her retirement in 2005, she enjoyed taking the boat excursions on Lake George and spending time with her good friend, Irma Hamblin of Glens Falls.
The visitation will be held Monday, December 4, 2017 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette Street, in Queensbury.
A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. at the Baker Funeral Home, with the Rev. Phil Phaneuf, pastor of the Queensbury United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be Tuesday, December 5, at 11 a.m. at the Lanesboro Cemetery in Lanesboro, PA where she will rest beside her parents, Basil and Alma and her grandparents, Minna and Jacob Pendorf.
