Harriette passed away peacefully the morning of November 24, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on November 1, 1942, in Akron, Ohio, to Paul and Rose-Marie Libby, Harriette was one of four children. Preceded in death by her parents and brother Stephen, Harriette is survived by sister, Paula Marie Warrell, and younger brother, Paul “Pete” Watson Libby.
An accomplished seamstress who learned the craft from her mother, Harriette was also an amazing cook and an even more talented baker. She loved sports and excelled at both golf and competitive tennis, where her skill and enthusiasm shone on the courts and courses. Harriette was a devoted and loving mother to her children—Glen, Libby, and David—cheerfully shuttling them to countless activities including soccer, ice skating, tennis, and swimming. As they grew older, she joined them for lively nights out in Denver, dancing the nights away at 23 Parrish and even partnering with Glen in USTA mixed doubles tennis competitions and spending hours with Libby cooking and baking for family and friends.
Her family brought her immense joy. Glen and Julie blessed her with two granddaughters, Molly and Zoe Green, earning her the cherished title of “Mimi.” Later, David blessed her with her only grandson, Dale. Harriette was a doting grandmother who, despite Glen, Julie, and David moving away, rarely missed an opportunity to visit her grandchildren—especially on their birthdays, when she would bake a magnificent and memorable cake that became a highlight of every celebration.
Harriette leaves behind countless friends and extended family members whose lives she touched—whether on the tennis court, the golf course, in the communities where she lived, or during the fun and mischief she shared with those closest to her.
God has blessed her soul.
A celebration of life will be held in Denver in the spring. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be considered to one of these two charitable organizations: ASPCA, American Humane Society.
Harriette will be deeply missed for her warmth, creativity, athletic spirit, and the love she poured into every cake, stitch, and moment shared with family and friends.
