Harry Hartenstine Obituary

Harry Hartenstine, 96, of Marshall, Texas, passed away on January 24, 2025.


Harry was born on November 25, 1928 in Manassas, Ohio and was raised in Lititz, Pennsylvania. Harry served in the Pennsylvania National Guard and the U.S. Air Force. After his military service, Harry worked in the airline industry for Capital Airlines, Swearingen Aircraft, American Flyers, and retired from American Airlines.


In May of 1952 Harry married Susan Jane Bowman, going on to have three girls, Deborah Lee, Wanda Eshleman, and Audrey Craig.


He was preceded in death by his wife Susan Jane Bowman Hartenstine, his parents Emmy and Harry Hartentstine, his twin brother Thomas, his brother Richard, and sister Gertrude. 


He is survived by his sister Linda Hartenstine Gould, his children Deborah Lee, Wanda Eshleman, and Audrey Craig as well as six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

There are not enough words to express how much you meant to me throughout our almost 83 years together.
