Henry Joseph Colar, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 1, 2021 at the age of 79. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Henry was a graduate of LB Landry High School Class of 1959 and a retired Merchant Seaman with Seafarers International Union (SIU) as a AB. Beloved husband of Antoinette Brown Colar. Devoted father of Henry “Hank” Joseph Colar, Jr., Stephen Anthony (Tanya) Colar, Sr., Aaron David (LaTanya) Colar, Henry “Pooh” Joseph Colar, III, and the late Christian Christopher Colar. Son of the late Joseph David Colar and Mary Olivia Henry. Brother of Rudolf Colar, Tyrone (Deidra) Vincent Colar, Sr., Debra Colar (Perry) Atkins of CA, Linda Colar (EJ) Rascoe of N.C., Verona Colar White (Efrem) Hurst of N.C., also survived by 7 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also priest and parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church 455 Ames Blvd. Marrero, LA on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 10:00a.m. Rev. Pastor Sidney Speaks, Celebrant. Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. Rosary will begin at 8:45a.m. Interment: McDonogh Cemetery-Gretna, LA. The service will be live-streamed on St. Joseph the Worker ‘s website (www.Stjworker.church), Facebook (Saint Joseph The Worker Church-Marrero), and YouTube (St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church Marrero).
