Henry Elkouri

1923 - 2018

Henry Elkouri, 95, of Benbrook, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018 in Fort Worth.
Memorial service: 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 3401 Bellaire Drive South, Fort Worth 76109.
Memorials: In lieu of usual remembrances, the family suggests a contribution in Henry's memory to Trinity Episcopal Church.
Henry Elkouri was born March 20, 1923 in Holdenville, Okla. to Ameen and Salema (Massad) Elkouri.  The Elkouri family moved to Anadorka, Okla. in 1933 where Henry graduated from Anadarko High School in 1942.  He worked briefly in the Oklahoma oil fields before enlisting in the Army during World War II.  He was the Special Investigator of the Provost Marshals Office at Camp Roberts, Calif. where he investigated and solved crimes.
Henry met his wife in Anadarko and married her in 1944.  After the war, Henry briefly sold a line of mens clothing in Kansas and Oklahoma.  In 1948 he moved to Corpus Christi to manage Warehouse Liquors, a chain of stores owned by his brother, Phillip Massad.  In 1976 Henry moved to Fort Worth to manage Majestic Liquor stores, one of the largest in the state.
After his retirement he spent many years with his loving wife, Gertrude Elkouri, who passed away in 2015.  His ashes will be laid to rest next to his wife, Gertrude, in the columbarium at Trinity Episcopal Church.
Henry is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Gertrude, sons, Doran and David, and his brothers and sisters.
